Wonderful place to stay
I have stayed at the Hotel Neos Omalos a few times now.
The rooms are simply furnished, clean and comfortable. The food is excellent, fresh traditional Cretan cuisine.
Yiorgos and his family and staff are all very friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble.
If you are looking to find the quieter traditional part of Crete with beautiful surroundings to stay in, this is the place for you.

Les chambres sont simples mais confortables, la salle à manger est chaleureuse, les plats délicieux et le personnel très amical.
Ils m’ont aidé à préparer mes deux jours de marche à travers les montagnes blanches pour rejoindre Anopoli.

Nice place to stay, staff exceptionally friendly.
Great place to stay for the Samaria hike. Close to the gorge entrance with a free shuttle bus to the entrance available. Rooms compact, clean and cosy. The breakfast simple and fresh. Dinner is optional and very good value. Staff very friendly and helpful.

We stayed 2 nights at neos omalos, one before the Samaria gorge and one after.
It was awesome. It’s a hotel far from the cities and in the mountain. People are really nice, they offer a good breakfast and you can take the shuttle to go to the gorge. You can also buy a picnic for the gorge and the food at the restaurant is really good and affordable.
I really recommend you this hotel instead of driving 2/3h to big cities after walking a lot in the gorge. You won’t be disappointed.

Hotel un peu rustique mais bien implanté au coeur des Montagnes Blanches, à seulement 45mn de Chania.
Personnel très agréable, souriant et serviable.
Chambres faites tous les jours.
Restaurant bonne cuisine familiale.
Excellent rapport qualité/prix.
C’est la troisième année que j’y vais, de 5 à 8 nuits, et j’ai hâte d’y retourner en 2024.

I had the pleasure of staying here for 2 nights in early June. Just what I expected for a peaceful mountain retreat. The food was traditional Cretan cuisine, delicious and plentiful. Nothing was too much trouble for staff. Interesting watching all the walkers in the morning, setting off for the Samaria Gorge. Inside and out, the hotel is in keeping with its mountain location.
